Summer has [unofficially] arrived! When Memorial Day weekend rolls around in Denver, we make sure it is the weekend of the year to remember. What an amazing holiday concept, that we are both honoring the military and celebrating the unofficial start of summer, even though the first day of summer isn’t technically until June 20th. There are countless events, activities, and parties going on around Denver for the special weekend, and we have featured 4 can’t-miss fun things to get involved with!



ArtStir Denver May 28 & 29- Denver Pavillions

ArtStir Denver is a Colorado-crafted art market featuring painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, textiles, furnishings, mixed media and more. This popular Downtown arts event will be occurring in the heart of the city at the Denver Pavillions on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. There will be over 100+ local and regional artists and crafters. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit VSA Colorado/Access Gallery which is an inclusive nonprofit organization “that engages the community by opening doors to creative, economic and educational opportunities for people with disabilities.” And of course, there will be plenty of food and drink from featured vendors in the Colorado Craft Lot including Hard Rock Café, Maggiano’s and Grimaldi’s.


Denver Day of Rock Saturday, May 28th 2:30 – 9:30 – Downtown Denver

On Saturday, 16th street mall will be transformed into a massive block party for the 7th year in a row. This is a free, one-day music festival with more than 2 dozen free rock concerts throughout the day. Denver Day of Rock “unites the community through music and family friendly entertainment while also raising funds.” Food and beer gardens will be set up for the fundraising event- AMP THE CAUSE- a Denver based, non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 50 children’sMemorial Weekend FUN at Water World Denver charities.



Water World Opening Weekend – May 28, 2016

Celebrate opening weekend at Denver’s gigantic, 67-acre water park. Water World is the ultimate summer destination, home to more than 65 aquatic attractions that will be sure to make you scream and laugh all day. This has been regarded one of America’s greatest amusement parks, what better place to bring your whole family to! Make sure to get on the ride, “Voyage to the Center of the Earth,” for an incredible journey back to when dinosaurs ruled the earth.


Yoga Rocks the Park– Sun, May 29- 8:30am- Sunken Garden Park, Denver.

Try something different this year! At this amazing event, there will be live music and of course tons of yoga, and it is free admission! Yoga Rocks the Park is a Denver summertime yoga + live music tradition which includes all-levels, live music/DJ yoga class, guided meditation, Kids Camp hosted by Radiant Beginnings for 5-10 year olds, and an after party complete with wellness vendors, food, drink, and more live music. Donations are split 50/50 to operate event and support YRP non-profit partner, Food Bank of the Rockies (every $1 creates 4 meals for those in need!).
